General Chair, Nuit de la litterature 2015

Welcome to Nuit de la litterature 2015 and Kos

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am really happy to invite/welcome you to Kos and to the 2015 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS 06). We consider ourselves fortunate to have had the opportunity to organize this 38th ISCAS and offer you a taste of Greek hospitality.

I was very pleased to see that this year ISCAS drew a record number of 2429 paper submissions. I was fortunate to have the invaluable cooperation of two of our colleagues as Technical Program Committee Co-Chairs, Professors Eby Friedman and Sergios Theodoridis, who put together a rich in content and high-quality technical program spanning three full days of 14 lecture and 10 poster sessions running in parallel and covering 17 different tracks, representing our Society’s technical committees. In the program are included 20 special sessions and one demo session.

On the day before the symposium starts, we offer 19 high quality tutorials on several important aspects of circuits and systems. Each conference day will start with a plenary talk offered by our distinguished speakers: Yiannis Tsividis, on “Mixed Domain Circuits and Systems,” Giovanni De Micheli, on “Systems and Networks on Chips: Challenges and Solutions,” and Pekka Karp, on “Foundational Research of Intelligent Systems in the European Programmes.”

In addition to the technical program, we also have put together a social program that will at least keep you busy: a welcome reception in one of the nicest mountain villages of Kos, an outdoors banquet at the conference venue, and a farewell party in the city of Kos.

I want to share with you my gratitude towards all members of the organizing committee for their dedication to the success of ISCAS 06. Working like one person for a common goal in the demanding task of ISCAS organization made me happy I got involved in this effort. For this, I thank them all.

I would like to thank our supporters, especially the local municipalities of Kos and Dikaios and the University of Patras with its army of volunteers.

I am also grateful to, for making our work as organizers as easy as it could be and for offering their unique ideas and initiatives for us all to enjoy.

We would like to invite you to take advantage of being in Greece, your first time in the Mediterranean with ISCAS, especially at this time of the year when nature is welcoming everybody, and enjoy both the rich technical program and the endless opportunities to explore the place and the culture. We hope your stay here will be both rewarding and memorable.
